Turn Up the Heat. Turn Down Everything Else.
Traditional saunas primarily heat the air around you. Infrared saunas use infrared energy to create warmth that is absorbed by the body while generally operating at lower air temperatures than traditional high-heat saunas.
A full spectrum infrared sauna incorporates near-, mid- and far-infrared wavelengths.
But you don't need to understand infrared wavelengths to enjoy your session.
You get in.
You warm up.
You sweat.
You unplug.
And for a little while, nobody needs anything from you.
Sometimes wellness can be that simple.
Step away from the noise for a little while.
The warmth and quiet of an infrared sauna provide an environment where you can slow down, relax and enjoy some much-needed downtime.
Hard workout? Long day? Body feeling overworked?
Heat can feel especially welcome after exercise, sports or physically demanding days. Sauna time can be an enjoyable part of your post-activity recovery routine.
Your body naturally responds to heat by increasing blood flow as part of normal temperature regulation.
Researchers continue to investigate the potential cardiovascular effects associated with sauna use, but sauna isn't a substitute for exercise or medical treatment.
Yes, you're going to sweat.
That's kind of the point. 😉
Infrared heat creates a warming environment that encourages sweating without requiring the extremely high air temperatures associated with some traditional saunas.
No miracle “detox” promises required.
Sometimes you don't need another thing to do.
You need permission to stop doing.
Sit.
Warm up.
Breathe.
Relax.
And give yourself some dedicated time to D-Compress.
Wellness marketing can get a little...creative.
You've probably seen infrared sauna credited with everything from melting fat to detoxifying the body, reversing aging and practically reorganizing your DNA before lunch. 😂
That's not how we do things at D-Compression Studios.
Infrared sauna is a wellness tool—not a miracle cure.
We offer it because heat, relaxation, recovery and intentional downtime can all have a place in a well-rounded wellness routine.
No magic required.
Less hype. More heat. More recovery. More ways to D-Compress.
You don't have to be an athlete—or even particularly athletic—to enjoy sauna time.
Infrared sauna may appeal to people looking for:
Post-workout downtime • Relaxation • Warmth • A good sweat • Recovery time • Quiet time • A complement to massage and bodywork • Another way to support their wellness routine
And for my active clients—golfers, tennis and pickleball players, gym-goers, runners and people who simply ask a lot of their bodies—it can be another way to build intentional recovery time into a busy week.
Your body doesn't exist in separate little wellness categories.
Some days you may need hands-on therapeutic bodywork.
Other days you might benefit from movement and stretching.
And sometimes you may simply want warmth, quiet and time to recover.
That's why D-Compression Studios offers more than one way to D-Compress.
Arrive adequately hydrated and follow any preparation instructions provided by D-Compression Studios.
Settle in, get comfortable and allow your body to gradually warm.
This isn't a competition to see who can tolerate the most heat.
If at any point you feel dizzy, lightheaded, nauseated or otherwise unwell, end the session and cool down.
Give yourself time to cool down and rehydrate.
Then go about your day feeling very accomplished for having spent part of it sitting still.

Traditional saunas primarily heat the surrounding air to create a very hot environment. Infrared saunas use infrared energy to produce warmth and generally operate at lower air temperatures. Both approaches create heat exposure, but the experience can feel different.
Full spectrum generally refers to infrared sauna equipment designed to provide near-, mid- and far-infrared wavelengths.
There isn't one ideal duration for everyone. Appropriate sauna time can depend on factors such as experience with heat, temperature, hydration and individual health considerations. Follow the session guidelines provided by D-Compression Studios and listen to your body.
Sweating is one of the body's normal responses to heat, but we don't market infrared sauna as a medical “detox” treatment. Your liver and kidneys play major roles in processing and eliminating substances from the body.
We prefer to focus on what the sauna actually provides: heat, sweating, relaxation and dedicated wellness time.
We don't offer infrared sauna as a weight-loss treatment. Sweating can cause temporary changes in body weight through fluid loss, which is why rehydration is important afterward.
Many people enjoy heat and relaxation as part of their post-workout routine. Hydration and how you're feeling that day matter, so listen to your body and don't use sauna if you're feeling unwell, dehydrated or unable to tolerate the heat comfortably.
Yes, sauna and therapeutic bodywork can both be incorporated into a broader wellness routine. Whether combining them on the same day is appropriate can depend on the individual, so we can help you determine how you'd like to schedule your services.
No. Heat exposure isn't appropriate for everyone.
If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, take medications that may affect your body's response to heat, or have concerns about sauna use, talk with your healthcare provider before using an infrared sauna.
